Useful Websites to Check Your Domain DNS...

How many times have you been told by your webhost that ‘Please be a little more patient as this issue is down to DNS propagation’. There are some really cool tools to check the propagation of your website around the world.

Website One: What’s My DNS: https://www.whatsmydns.net/

“Instantly check your domain names current IP address and DNS record information against multiple name servers located in different parts of the world.”

So let’s check our domain name bigwetfish.hosting and we recently changed our Nameservers and DNS to be handled by Cloudflare so let’s check if our Cloudflare DNS has propagated around the world yet. So we loaded up the website and entered our domain and as you can see we’re all good! The DNS changes have propagated around the world:

Website Two: DNS Inspect: http://www.dnsinspect.com/

“A free web tool which checks your domain’s servers for common DNS and mail errors and generates a report with explanations how to fix them.”

This service provides a very comprehensive DNS report and will give you a Grade! A snippet from the result from our domain name bwf.co is donwn below and we’d encourage you to run a DNS test on your domain name.

Website Three: Into DNS: http://intodns.com/

“IntoDNS checks the health and configuration and provides DNS report and mail servers report. And provides suggestions to fix and improve them, with references to protocols’ official documentation”

This service gives you a simple report allowing you to see A Records and MX Records at a glance. It will also flag up errors in red so you can check it and correct any errors. We ran the same report for our bwf.co domain name and scrolled down to find the A and MX Records.
